Have you noticed how kids lose their enthusiasm for certain play if it is forced on them?

I certainly speak from experience when I write about this subject. My kid used to love gymnastic as a youngster, In fact he was not even meant to go for gymnastic classes, he begged me to put him in because his older sis was going. Today after more than six year he is begging to quit. I am trying hard to keep him motivated but it is an uphill task. It is frustrating to see a kid who has the talent for something quit halfway. I am in a dilemma, should I respect his wishes and let him or force him to continue hoping in future he will rediscover his mojo and thank me later in life.

I wish I knew the answer.
